2018 Captains Prize Tournament Conditions

  • The Captains Prize shall be played as an 18 hole stableford qualification over the weekend of 14th & 15th July with a 9 hole stableford play-off on Friday 20th July.
  • The leading 27 nett scores and 3 best gross scores will qualify for the play-off. Note: should the top 27 nett scores not include the 3 best gross scores the number of qualifiers will be increased to include the 3 best gross scores.
  • The Captains Prize will be subject to the Club’s Condition of Entry Regulations and Policy on Prize-giving.
  • Where a competitor notifies the Committee of their non-availability for the play-off the Committee may promote a reserve.
  • First Prize shall be open to the following categories of Male Members having returned 3 cards in Club competitions during the current year; Ordinary, Honorary & Long Serving. Student and Junior Members shall be eligible to play in the competition but ineligible to win 1st prize.
  • Competitors are permitted to determine their own Times of Starting & Groupings as per the Club’s Competition Regulations. Note : Competitors are not permitted to alter their starting time, once booked, unless the Committee ratifies such a change in accordance with Rule 6-3b. Penalty for breach will be disqualification.
  • Competitors must not practice on the course a) prior to their qualifying round and b) on the day of the play-off in accordance with Rule 7–1b. Note: This prohibits competitors playing the course on Saturday 14th July where they play their qualifying round on Sunday 15th July. Penalty for breach will be disqualification.
  • The holes and teeing grounds may be differently situated on each day of qualifying in accordance with Rule 33-2.
  • Players are required to enter their scores into the computer for their qualifying rounds in accordance with the Condition of Entry Regulations and Rule 6-6b. The scores in the play-off are not required to be entered into the computer.
  • Caddies are allowed in the play-off.
  • Players should only book a tee time for either Saturday 14th OR Sunday 15th July and not both.
  • Buggies allowed in Qualifying and Play- Off
  • In the event of the Qualifying Rounds and / or Play Off being disrupted by weather dates of play will be rescheduled at the discretion of Captains & Men’s Committee
